SUBJECT: Race to Erase 2009
I am taking part in this year’s Race to Erase on October 3, 2009 and I need your support! Race to Erase is an annual fundraising event, which involves teams of four adults driving throughout Wallaceburg and area competing in fun and exciting challenges. The challenges are designed to not only be entertaining, but also raise awareness and exposure for local businesses and not-for-profit organizations. This year, proceeds will benefit Goodwill Industries Essex Kent Lambton and its establishment of an attended donation drive-thru centre in Wallaceburg. This donation centre allows Goodwill to receive higher quality goods, while dramatically decreasing processing times and operating costs. These donated goods get onto the shelves for purchase more quickly, allowing the money obtained from the retail sale to go back into the Goodwill’s employment training and counseling programs. These programs provide those with employment barriers the job skills and training they need to find and keep work. If you are unable to donate, you can still help by passing this email along, or signing up a team yourself. It is a fun event, and there are many great prizes available, including an all expenses paid trip to some place warm (last year’s top fundraiser in Sarnia won a trip to the Caribbean)!
