The ‘Race’ began in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada in 2006 and has since spread to Wallaceburg and London. Wallaceburg's event will be held on October 3, 2009, London's Race to Erase will take place on September 26, 2009, and Sarnia's fourth annual Race will be held on September 19, 2009.

Operated by The Chris Dawson Foundation, the Race to Erase is an annual fundraising event involving teams of four adults driving through Lambton County, competing in fun-filled challenges.  These challenges are designed not only to be entertaining, but to raise awareness and exposure to local businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Prizes are awarded to individuals and teams that raise the most money, as well as the team that finishes the Race’s challenges in the fastest time.

Past challenges have included working together to catch a fish at a hatchery, sinking a putt while wearing sight simulator glasses for the CNIB, and participating in a banana-split-eating contest.  Click here for more examples of previous challenges.

The Chris Dawson Centre is a home for charitable not-for-profit organizations. Here, they have access to technological office improvements and shared services including boardrooms, a kitchen, mailroom, printers, fax and photocopier, receptionist and free parking resulting in a significant reduction of overhead costs.

Our Mission - To celebrate the legacy of Chris Dawson in three ways:  developing and managing community centres for not-for-profit organizations; participating in educational opportunities (scholarships and sponsorships); and supporting charitable events, which will further community development.  

Chris Dawson was a smiling, energetic, positive young gentleman. He lived life to the fullest every day, loved his family and regularly gave his time to help others. Although not all of his dreams could be fulfilled before a tragic accident in 2006, his desire to improve lives will forever live on through The Chris Dawson Foundation.
